Pastor David Hillis has served our church since December, 1994. He and his wife, Scottie, have been in ministry and mission work for 43 years. They first pioneered and founded the youth work of Word of Life in Sydney, Australia in 1970. During their 14 years of leadership there the camp and college program grew rapidly on a campus of 143 acres with a staff of a dozen Australians. The impact of staff and students across the South Pacific was extensive.
The Hillis family (3 sons) returned to Washington, D.C. in 1984 where Rev. Hillis became the Dean of Students and Scottie became Dean of Women at Washington Bible College. In 1989 the family moved to Cincinnati, Ohio where Dave was senior pastor of Milford Hills Community Church.
In 1997 our pastor was given an honorary Doctorate of Divinity for his work in international missions by HBI University in Chennai, India. The pastor and Scottie have ministered and traveled in more than 33 countries. He earned an M.A. in Education from Liberty University in 1985 and a B.A. in Bible from LeTourneau University in 1968. Scottie and Dave met at Columbia International University, S.C. in l964. She received her Bachelor of Biblical Education in 1967. Today their three sons have given them 9 grandchildren..
